Beyond her studies, Nikki is consistingly pursuing her interests in photography. A National Geographic student course in the Canadian Arctic, was a defining movement for her, where she met Kiliii Yüyan, a renowned photographer and storyteller. Later which point, under Kiliii’s mentorship, Nikki has been prompted to see photography in a societal context and utilise the value of storytelling to create an emotive narrative, and have her work deliver impact.
Nikki loves to experiment with a range of equipment, techniques and presentation medias. She is keen to develop her skills in handling film, in particular 120 and large scale darkroom printing.
Nikki is currently focusing on her Room Compositions project, where she intends to document and analyse university student life. And hope to create a number of images to then exhibit.
